Food was great as usual. Molcajete was excellent. Best in town. My wife had burnt cheese tacos with spinach and mushrooms and loved it. Not the typical Mexican restaurant. It takes time to get your order but is worth it.

I am so impressed at the vegetarian menu selection! There are multiple options, which did not feel like permutations of the same dish. The staff was attentive and fast with service. They customized dishes according to my liking, which I appreciated. Food quality was excellent. Chips and salsa felt fresh, as did the chimichangas we ordered. Located in a strip mall, so parking was abundant and easy. Clean restaurant. Overall will definitely return.

*| La Botana |* Yall know I love a good routine and tradition and La Botana is one of our weekly traditions. @marybethhaglund introduced us to this gem and I'm forever grateful for the many meals we've shared here. La Botana opened its doors in 2004. July and Rigo Herrera Velasqez created La Botana as a way to share a part of their culture through food. Their menu takes inspiration from different states of Mexico: Nuevo Leon, Jalisco and San Luis Potosi. Heritage and pride is at the core of everything they create. Catch us here twice a week enjoying their robust mole and tangy huitlacoche tacos.

This will always be one of my favorite Mexican places in the area, mostly because of the incredible vegetarian menu! We stopped by late Saturday afternoon and got seated right away: greeted with warm chips and salsa. Salsa is not too spicy but very fresh tasting, and service is always fantastic. We started with the vegetarian queso fundido: wow! Soy chorizo to my heart. At first we were worried the queso was thin, but as soon as we mixed that baby, OH MY GOODness. Salty, spicy, cheesy, and a perfect compliment to the chips and salsa. We were so excited to try the newer vegetarian options and they didn't disappoint: I got the Brussels chimichanga and hubs got the bok choy chimichanga. What's wild: they were both so different flavor profiles! Mine was a spicy mix of pintos, veggies, perfect potatoes and tomatoes, topped with a white cheese and what looked like a tomato/chili crisp. INCREDIBLE: spicy savory and just full of homey love. The bok choy one had that incredible soy chorizo again: again full of veggies but a more chorizo profile. 10/10 both. Always a chill and kind atmosphere: never feel rushed always feel welcomed.

This corner strip mall location is a pleasant surprise!! The menu selections all sounded delicious. It was hard to choose something. The service and ambiance were both excellent. The food was so delicious. Fresh ingredients, authentic flavors. Breakfast and lunch items. I cannot wait to go back to have lunch again.

Tried out La Botana tonight and was pleasantly surprised at the diversity of their menu. This is not your standard run of the mill Mexican restaurant. They have a TON of unique options to choose from including an extensive vegetarian selection as well as vegan options. I ended up getting the Mucho Queso Combo, the sauce was very flavorful and had a nice heat to it. My only complaint would be that my poblano did not have the core removed so it was a little bit on the seedy side. Overall it was a tasty dish and you can tell that it was made fresh. One uncommon part of their menu that I wanted to highlight was their early bird menu. They have a lot of lower priced options if you come a bit earlier for dinner which I think is great!

Best Mexican food in NC. Truly a family restaurant the service is so nice. It's slow and they make it from scratch so be nice. Options for even the worst food allergies/dietary restrictions. Actually spicy when you want it. We come all the time never had a bad experience. Just don't come in a hurry. Tried all kinds of stuff, all of it good.
